NFL, O how we missed thee

The day is almost here. NFL fans thought the lockout would wipe out an entire season and we would be stuck with the MLB Playoffs. Thankfully, a new, 10-year collective bargaining agreement (CBA) was reached with the help Patriots owner Robert Kraft and the NFLPA.

I owe you a bear hug, Bob.

The time has come to assemble the tailgate party, break out the faded jersey of your favorite team and join fantasy leagues.

The Green Bay Packers begin their title defense against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday with many story lines looming around the league. The AFC South may have a changing of the guard. New England reloads with Ochocinco and Haynesworth.

Cam Newton and Andy Dalton begin their rookie seasons with the Carolina and Cincinnati, respectively. Speaking of the Bengals, there may be a possible Carson Palmer sighting, according to reports.

Dallas begins a full season with new head coach Jason Garrett following a 6-10 campaign. Philadelphia tries to live up to the "Dream Team" hype and get to the Super Bowl in Indianapolis. Ex-Eagle Donovan McNabb tries to revive his career in Minnesota and New Orleans moves on without Reggie Bush.

The 2011 season will be quite interesting and we will watch every game and every SportsCenter highlight to determine who will represent the AFC and NFC in February 2012.

Football is back, my friends. Football is back.
